"Sparkle" started off her show career with a Best in Match at three months of age, won her first major from the puppy class and finished her championship at the age of 18 months with a Best of Breed over specials. On top of that, Sparkle has also had the fun of winning multiple Group placings.
Upon retiring from the show ring, Sparkle enjoyed motherhood and made it known that she had become the "Grand Dame" of the household. She produced 7 champions (4 of them Specialty winners), enabling her to earn a Register of Merit (ROM) from the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America.
On May 27, 2009, my dear girl went to the Rainbow Bridge, but not before giving me a kiss before she went.....that was the essence of Sparkle and her personality -- letting me know she knew I was upset. I will deeply miss my constant companion of the last 12 years....the house just won't seem the same.
